| C Rider | wtf is going on ok, so i was riding like a hour ago with my buddy. i have a 1987 kdx 200. i was riding and all of a sudden as i give it throttle it would bog out slow down and die out after i came to a complete stop. i just put a full tank of gas in it the other day, running it 32:1. previous owner ran it 50:1. well, it starts up still, but once u give it more than a little throttle it dies out. give it choke and it dies out. air filter is fine, spark plug is fine, fuel lines are fine, nothing clogged in fuel lines. help please! |

| Administrator | Jetting matters lots on what mixture you run. With the now switch to 32:1 your engine will be running leaner. Yes there will be oil but the actual engine will be running leaner. You should not get a bog. Obviously I would try some 50:1 and see what you get but I will think about other stuff for a bit.

| C Rider | pretty odd - that's exactly the same model I have, and I had something similar recently. I rode to the top of the hill (maybe six or seven miles up a fire-road) and on the way down, it started to bog at midrange. But on mine, if I held the throttle wide-open, it ran pretty well. And it starts and idles fine. But nothing in the middle. A new plug didn't help Right now it's spread out on the garage floor, while I try to get time to clean out the carb, air filter, fuel filter, tank vent... the worst thing would be if it's not putting out quality spark because of a failing CDI or coil. I can't find anyone capable of testing electrics on a bike that old. |
