As an important part of the analysis, the Forest Service (FS) is asking for your input regarding this proposal. The outcome of this analysis will be a decision and updated travel plan for motorized winter travel on the Bonners Ferry, Priest Lake and Sandpoint Ranger Districts. The public is encouraged to participate and provide comments. Your comments will help in identifying significant issues for analysis and a range of alternatives to be considered. Please remember that this proposal is just the starting point. Once the significant issues and alternatives to be considered have been determined, an environmental analysis will be conducted to evaluate the potential benefits and effects of alternative management strategies. Those findings will be documented in the Selkirk Mountain Range Winter Travel Plan Draft Environmental Impact Statement, which will be available for additional review and commenting. Further information will be posted on their website at http://www.fs.fed.us/ipnf/kaniksu/wintertravelplan/. If you have any questions during this comment period or wish to discuss the travel plan, please contact Greg Hetzler, Project Team Leader, at (208) 263-5111.
