milling my head

well my bike has once again screwed up and ive had to slpit my cases for the second time in like 2 months, on third gear some teeth broke off, but anyway, i was thinkning about milling my head, does anybody know how far i can go before my piston hits my head?

one word, plastigauge or pression blue. basically it is a clay like substance that you will pack into the cylinder and then put the head on with the gasket and torque it to spec. turn it over a few times and remove the head. measure how close things are and take off about half of that. major thing to have in is the sparkplug.

um, i think autozone or oreillys sells it. other than that, i would try a machine shop. i would think most car shops would sell it though.

um, idk i know some stores can do auto heads but bikes are a hole other thing. just call around. but you will for sure need to measure yourself unless you take it to a true machine shop.

ill get it sometime, in the meanwhile i need to get my bike running first before i start worrying about this kind of stuff, but i ported my cylinder and to do it i put my gasket on the bottom of my cylinder and trimed it about halfway to it on each side, i hope i can tell a difference
