after re-jet?

ok well i have a drz250 and i recently got an FMF powercore 4 slip-on put on it and it needed to have the main jet increased and whatever else so i got it done, now before i got it done it had this slight bog after it had been running. now i just got it back after having it re-jetted and the power output was insane but after riding it wide open in 6th on the road for like 10-15 mins(not for that long like i stopped every so often) and the bogging came back, the power was still there and the bog wasnt as big as before but u can definitly feel it and hear it. So what I am wondering is would this have something to do with the engine being hot from going wide open? or is it just cuz once you get it re-jetted it has to break in again?

oh and also i did have dirt in the tank but i cleaned it out before i rode it so it shouldn't be the dirt.

wide open is harsh on an engine, Im not sure it thats the source of your problem though.

well your float bowl will run out of gas in it afetr a certain time, and the pumps that 4 stroke carbs use only hold so much gas each time they work, they have to fill back up after a wide open run, so afetr you let of of it after doing this and then crack open the throttle imeadiately after it will bog, but i think the DRZ 250 is air cooled? but that is no good for wide open runs. it is hard on a engine. have you checked the valves lately?

no its air/oil cooled, but yeh it makes sence that it takes a minute for the pump to get gas in the motor, and acctually today after i would go wide open i would wait a second before hitting the throttle and it was fine.

sounds like it could use a high flow float needle and lines (they don't make this to my knowledge...)

they do make needles with sharper tapers and this lets more gas into the mixture, they come with jet kits.

well is this common in all 4-strokes cuz all my friends have 230's and i don't think their bikes bog out?? same with my friends dr200 it doesnt bog out either after going full out,and mine has been doing it ever since i can remember, even before i got the pipe on it. it's sort of getting to be a pain in the ass(pardon my french) because wen i go to pull a wheelie it bogs and then pretty much no wheelie. after the bog though it's like all the power comes right back but still. However it doesn't bog wenever i take off shifting like 1,2,3,4,5,6 it doesnt bog at all but then wen im shifting down and go to rev up it does it and even like a minute or two after i was done going wide open it still does it until i shut it off and turn it back on after. but also i was wondering if it would be an air issue and if a more higher flow air filter would do it but maybe not. becuase wen i got my bike jetted after i got the pipe the mechanic said the pilot jet was probly a little lean causing the bog after its warmed up. but w/e i dunno

if its bogging, most likely pilot jet, IM unsure of whether or not you have an ap
