you have to keep the air fuel mix correct

since your bike's filter is caked up it should be running rich
is the exhaust a blackish color?

what kind of bike do you have again? anyways, unless you got the jetting specs from fmf for a stock whatever you have, you will have to jet it again with the new filter. might as well get a good one while your at it btw, twinair ps. pull off your plug and see if its tan, black, or white

this is real easy work a mechanic will just charge insane amounts for. to pull your air filter, its like 3 bolts. whered you get the jetting specs? did you jet it yourself?

your air filter isnt necessarily gone, a drz doesnt have many vents for your air box to recieve air. i would go ahead and try pouring some gas on it and oiling it nicely, take a pic and we could tell you if its ok or not.

alright, yeh i just got my mechanic to jet it after i got the pipe but like if i just go ahead and buy for example a twin air filter and do not get the bike re jetted can it do harm like blow up the engine? cuz i know with pipes it can blow up ur bike if its not jetted properly but will too much air just make it run like crap? or will it acctually do serious damage?

yes, it will run bad with too much air, but it can do nothing. the second you throw the new air filter on, throw a new spark plug on too. easy enough. go for a ride, at least 30 minutes. pull the plug, and take a pic of it to post it here. if its white, its lean. black, its rich, tan, its perfect

if it runs to lean it can burn up you piston/cylinder

if it runs to rich it will carbon up and a chip of carbon can damage your rings

do the plug test my guess is your bikes plug it pretty dark right now
if its not its probably been jetted with the dirty air filter
