Octane booster doesn't cause things to burn hotter technically. Well... I guess it does kinda. Anyways, octane booster just requires that the fuel mixture be ignited at a higher temperature aka pressure. That is why you add octane booster.

another reason octane booster is bad, at least the cheap stuff that comes in a plastic container, is that during its shelf ilfe it actually eats away a little of the plastic and that crap ends up in it, I use to run octane booster in my wr, it sucked.

Well octane booster doesn't offer anything. It is more of a preventative measure for premature ignition.
