| Super Moderator | there a pain in the butt to work on too, a buddy of mine had a trail scout (not too sure anymore) and the rings went bad. you had to take the whole stupid bike apart to get to the engine.

| Administrator | ya, ive have my experience with them too, seeing as my girlfriend has 2 of them. its always fun actually using metric and standard sizes. plus polaris tried to be cool and slap some random sensors on theirs bikes which dont work so u just get so many wires slopped together. some other good things include polaris' love to use 1/4" wheel studs. i was actually afraid i was going to break them off when i was taking the tire off. plus changing the oil is great, we had the clymers manual for it and we still actually couldnt figure out how to change it. and we are talking about me here, and i couldnt find out even how to drain all of the oil seeing as they have like 3 drain plugs.

| Super Moderator | geez. and i thought my dry sump bikes were bad........ polaris seems to rely heavily on electronics whethere than mechanical. which i dont like.

| Administrator | well they dont even make their own engine. thats why there are metric bolts on their quads because KTM hooks them up with engines.

| Pro Mototips Member | i know this is a really old thread but im going to post in it anyway. Actually rotax hooks ktm and polaris up with engines. Thats why ktm has so many classes of bikes cuz ktm doesnt even make thier bikes. they only make the frame and exhaust, thats about it, cept for some misc. things |

| Administrator | i heard that polaris and ktm had teamed up to make whatever pece polaris just came out with. anyway, they said the engine wa designed by ktm. so is this rotax or ktm that made it?
