| Administrator | that is a super good trick, but if u have large dents that freezing doesnt help with u can always do it one of the same ways they do cars and weld studs to the dent. use some suitable slide hammer-ish item to pull them out. even in clymers manuals it will actually tell you to cut the section out if it is too big and hammer back to shape and re-weld. just depends on wat kind of expansion chamber u have too. stainless steel makes your job easy and u can make it look like nothing was ever welded to it, or if u have a lesser quality chrome plated pipe, it will start to rust where it was welded so treat it like u would a bare metal expansion chamber and keep it oiled. as far es dents hurting performance, they theoretically do if u did the math, but u cannnot usually notice it unless it was in a key area like the neck or tail end of the pipe. i would suggest just trying the freezing method and if that doesnt work dont worry about it too much.

| Administrator | no, a good quality pipe will not exhibit these problems. it takes an excessive amount of pressure to burst a weld, they are stronger than the steel itself. ice does produce a fair amount of pressure but, usually it is not even enough to push out dents. try to find a way of capping off the ends securely if the dents are fairly large.

| Administrator | ya, the ice will expand it, but the ice should get wedged in the chamber and expand in there.
