Something about aluminum foot pegs just scares me. I don't know why but I would not trust them.

i wouldnt mind much, sketchy foot pegs no longer bother me because on the xr75, my peg(s) fell off so often i learned to land without them

lol my foot pegs are 5 inches wide
from the bar i out though the frame kinda nice at times (until you have to start it)

foot pegs arent steel anymore, they are titanuium, at least on yamahas, and probly on alot of other brands too
