| Administrator | Wiseco Pistons So what does everyone think of Wiseco Performance Pistons? I have heard mixed stories and was just wondering what everyone thought about them. I personally have had no trouble with Wiseco Pistons, but many have had trouble with them. Some of the trouble originates from the extra short skirt length of the piston.(The two parts that extend down from the head of the piston) Any way I think they are a great piston if you are looking for a high performance piston replacement. Their frictionless coating also makes for one sweet piston. Wiseco also makes it easy to gain even more horsepower with their high compression pistons. What do all of you think of Wiseco and their pistons? What do you think of Wiseco's other products such as their clutch baskets?

| Administrator | I have read not many bad things about there clutch bastkets. Many say they last a long time. Most would recomend over some of your other options.

| Administrator | well i definately need a new clutch basket soon. i got away with sanding the fingers down once because i didn't have the money, but i dont think i will be able to get away with that again. i guess that mean im going to have to buy a basket soon.

| Administrator | well, i heard too many stories about problems with wiseco pistons so i went with a JE high compression piston. it definately is a much higher quality product than wiseco pistons. je pistons are machined and turned from a solid piece of aluminum instead of being cast. you can see machine marks all throughout the piston unlike the wiseco. knowing that each piston was machined from a block of aluminum tells me that i should trust it a lot more than a cast piston. plus i only paid $150.

| Administrator | so apparently after chatting with a top engine builder it has been discovered that JE is Wiseco. i dont know if they have the same plans or if they are the same company. all i know is that they are the same. i thought JE was a super devoted to pistons company so i guess i will trust wiseco for pistons also.

| Administrator | ya, just a bit. its alright to me though because i knew je made good pistons so now i kno wiseco is good also, so which ever is cheaper will be going in my bike. however there is still a feeling there that i should stick with je.

| Administrator | i bought a vortex basket and i was super satisfied with the quality of it. then i saw a complete hinson clutch kit on ebay for only $400, normally retails for like $1000. i was mad.
