Oh God yes. I would not own a bike without them. Works Connection braces and those super amazing hand guards. I need engine guards and a skid plate still.

bottoming out doesnt really hurt a bike or the suspension, if it messes up the bike when you bottom out then you are going to get hurt also, you know you bottom out hard when your face hits the handlebars and bends then down

Technically it should do nothing of the sort. It just feels wrong to bottom things out. Think about the pros, even though they have their suspension dialed in, it is not uncommon for them to bottom out one or two times around the track. However when you do bottom out you can put excessive load on rear linkage components.

Did you know that overall the factory bikes now last much longer than those of 10 years ago? It was an article in Dirtrider.

Well, think how hard they push the bikes now. They do ridiculous things like replace pretty much every piece of steel with titanium and aluminum. They actually start with a pile of engine and a bucket of titanium and aluminum fasteners and assemble it all up. So many things. I don't know if any of you guys subscribe to Dirtrider but in their latest issue they had an article about all the little tricks each factory bike has done to it. I almost cried at some of the things they do. They actually change engine mount thickness to better suit the rider. How are you so good that you can tell the little flex in the frame means something. Makes me smile. Maybe I will scan the article or something.
