new here and about to get a dirt bike

well ive ridden before but i dont have my own dirt bike and choosing to get one. my friend is selling his 1991 yamaha 200cc to 250cc range (not sure) for 320 bucks and i was thinking of getting it but a few questions came to mind. is a 1991 bike too old? and any precautions i need to take and what should i inspect to see if it will last me a while? ill be taking another friend with me to check it out.

answer makes good gear, I would get that.
for googles? I prefer scotts
and youll want some boots too! I recommend Gaerne.

alright any websites that you suggest to get these? im guessing ill need the boots because those pipes near where you put your feet at get very hot and i could possibly burn myself right?

boots because you can break your foot with out em, when your going through corners it can catch on things and snap it

just make sure you don't wear shorts...

ya those pipes can burn you pretty bad if the bike falls on you
mostly you need the boots for ankle support
the will keep your legs from tiring so fast as well

well im looking for some good boots that dont cost much. my dads telling me to wear military boots but im pretty sure that wont work because it doesnt have the ankle support. any cheaper boots that i can get?
