Hey everyone,

I'm new to the whole dirtbike scene, but once spring hits I'm intending to buy a dirtbike (used). I'm unsure of what type of bike to get though. I've been kinda looking into the honda crf230. I'm 22, 5'9 and 130 lbs. I'll be getting a bike with my bf and I'm planning on using it mainly for trails, track riding, nothing too serious at first because I am new to it. I'd like a bike that I can keep a couple seasons that won't become boring. So any help, suggestions, advice are welcomed... Thank You!!!

well, i would try to stay away from hondas f series bikes try a crf250r. it is a great bike with a great suspension and loads of power. i know u said u were just starting, but buying a crf230f is a big mistake. lots of people have them, but im not sure why. try to get a motocross series bike such as a yz250f, crf250r, rm-z250, or a kx250f.

Why would you advise for me to stay clear of the f series... 230 to be specific... why a big mistake??

well, i just feel that they lack the inovations that make it a powerful and comfortable bike to ride. horsepower leaves something to ask for and the suspension is the same size as my old rm80. now i dont have personal experience with these bikes, i have never ridden one. yet from my research i feel that with their shortcommings they are not really a suitable choice if u dont want to become bored. the racing series bikes also have the most effort put into them, making them one innovative ride. if u have ne more questions just let me kno.

I always really enjoyed my yz400f. It is a bit of a beast though. You may want to look into a yz250f
