| Bike of the year! | I have only been riding dirt bikes for a year now and am always looking to improve and need all the good tips I can get. My first bike was a 2005 KDX220r it was a really nice 2 stroke, really fast 6 speed, but I MUST be a 4 stroker at hart, I love the power and the feel of my 2004 crf250r. I have been doing a lot of jumping out of a series of natural bowls on my farm. The height varies from a small 4 foot jump to a 35 to 40 foot wall climb and everything in between. There is one jump I love that is about 50% grade and 8 feet high. I can jump out of it really well, but don’t know how or what to expect if I hit it any faster than 2nd gear pined. I guess I go about 3 maybe 4 feet high and about 10 to 18 feet out. I am coming out of a bowl on to flat ground so it is not a “jump” made of dirt on flat ground. It feels really good to do it but it is not ANYTHING that would even get me a ticket into the X-games parking lot. The only fear I have really is, uh, falling off. I love climbing the walls and will post pics when I get some, but any tips would really be appreciated. Thanks, and I love the site so far. Really cool pics.

| Administrator | you really need to watch your landing on video or have someone else watch it. at a certain point a landing ramp is inevitable because you will start to bottom out your bike. for example, this past weekend we were jumping this bowl. we were only averaging 10-15 feet off the ground and i have one video where my feet are on the foot pegs and they are buried under the SAND when i landed. just pay attention if you choose to go faster because higher slopes can throw your bike off the face weird.

| Bike of the year! | There is a lot of sand out there, but not where I do my jumping. I would love to see that pic of you up to the pegs in sand! lol Thanks for your comments. I do watch a lot of videos on FMX and MX and they make it look so easy. I have a whole new respect for anyone that rides like that. I can feel that I want to go faster until it comes to just letting go….lol but when it is done right, it feels so good and smooth. Nothing bottoms out and the hit is so smooth that I may not even hear the chain clank on the tensioner. I am going out this weekend for an all weekend ride with my brother, his wife, father-in-law, uncle, nephew, and next door neighbor. Brother: ’07 crf230f His wife:’07 crf80f Father-in-law: ’07 wr250f Uncle: ’07 wr250f Nephew: ’06 yz250f 50th anniversary edition Neighbor: ’05 wr250te Husky It will be a lot of fun. The weather will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s and a little over cast. I love it!

| Administrator | ya, we figured the sand was light enough to take our 10ft landings.
