So from what i understand, 4strokes have power all the time, but a 2stroke puts out alot more power at certain RPMS.. I really have no idea what would be better for me,

for trail a 4 would be better because of the wide range of speed you will be traveling at
but if you are good a 2 stroke will do just as good
it also depends on the trails you are on do you like technical trails or fast trails?

Ive never actually gone riding trails, on my pw 80 i had made like a little area in my back yard i would ride around. I guess ill look into some bikes, my uncle will help me get one and ill ride. Once i get better ill take his and others advice on getting a decent racing bike and work from there.

if he ever comes back to read this...My first bike was a KDX220, LOVED IT!! but i had the chance to get into my crf250r so i traded it in on it. But anyway, very strong 2 stroke. Lots of power, sits a little higher than I like, but the seat is made for long days of riding. Nice and soft. It has a 6 speed gear box. The first and only thing i replaced on it was the shit lever. It was poorly made and bent easily by just shifting, the MSR shifter I replaced it with was only like $30
