newb here

Hey whats up everyone. I picked up a 2001 Suzuki RM 250 yesterday and came across your site today looking for info on the bike. It is my first bike so this is a learning experience for me. So thanks in advance for any help I get from you guys and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Question NewB Here as well...

Hello Folks. Im Norm. I just really got into DirtBikes and Motorcycles. I learning as I go. My first bike is a 1981 Honda CM 400 Custom. Thats my summer car lol. I just bought my first dirtbike tough! It dosent have a name on it tough i belive it has diffrent plastics and just about everything is off somthing else. I did Find out it has a Loncin 150cc 162FMJ Upright Dirt Bike Engine. The frame was origanally a On and Off road. Somone told me maby its a wildfire frame but wildfire motors says no. The reason I found this page was im having some problems with the dirtbike now and i could really use some ones advise that know what there doin. Most people I talk to around home just think thats the problem. But You folks live the life so Im sure you can help lol My first order of bisuness is a plug i have here. The wires got stripped and ripped the other day while riding some nasty terrain It goes on the left side of the motor under the chain gaurd its round and has six dots on it look like copper or brass and 6 wires comming out of the top wich i figured out to be off a dangeling harness i now have in hand too. Any Clue as to what this thing is? Thanks

can't see it real well

this bike does not have a gear indicator does it?
have you noticed anything not working?

if the dots are copper or brass (electrical contacts), it looks like a gear position sender to me

i am going to guess that this bike has 6 gears?
