A Preview of 2012 New Orleans Supercross Match

The 14th match of the 2012 AMA Supercross series will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome of New Orleans on the 14th of April, 2012. Similar to the previous matches, this match too is expected to run houseful and deliver some thrilling moments. While Ryan Villopoto has already captured the title, he will try to retain his dominance and register another win. Ryan Dungey will try to extend his lead over Davi Millsaps and retain the second position in the standings. Davi Millsaps will try his level best to overtake Dungey and acquire the second spot.

The Mercedes-Benz Superdome of New Orleans will play as the host to the 14th match of the 2012 AMA Supercross series which is a part of the FIM world Championship and is organized and regulated by the FELD Motorsports Inc. The match will be played this Saturday i.e. 14th April, 2012 and similar to the dirt bike races held so far in this season of the AMA Supercross series, this match too is expected to be another cracker of a match resulting in some highly thrilling and nail-biting moments. Thousands of fans are expected to gather together at the superdome of New Orleans to witness the fourth last match of this seventeen match series.

Ryan Villopoto of Kawasaki racing team, who is also the defending champion of this series, has already captured the title in the 13th match of this season with still four matches still left in this season. Though any kind average finishing in the race at New Orleans will be enough for him to move ahead smoothly towards lifting the title, but he will try his level best to keep his winning momentum going by delivering another spectacular performance at this venue too. Villopoto now has two back to back AMA Supercross title victories under his belt and he doesn’t seem to slow down. He has dominated the entire season and at New Orleans too, he will try to retain that.

With Villopoto already capturing the title, the fight will now begin to secure the second and third position in the points table. A fierce battle is expected to come up for acquiring the final two positions in the podium. Ryan Dungey of team Red Bull KTM has not raced since the supercross match at St. Louis but he is still at the second position in the supercross standings with a lead of just one point over Davi Millsaps of team JGRMX/Toyota/Yamaha. Hence, a thrilling battle is expected to take place between Dungey and Millsaps at New Orleans for the second position in the points table. While Dungey will try to extend his lead and retain the second position, Davi Millsaps will give his 100% acquire the second spot.

However, the fans will miss out from witnessing the fiery performances of JGRMX/Toyota/Yamaha’s James Stewart and GEICO Honda’s Kevin Windham. Both the riders suffered bad crashes during the previous Supercross matches and have incurred some serious injuries. They are not completely fit yet and will take some more time to recover properly and get back to the race track.
