Eli Tomac Won the 250cc Lites Class Event at 2012 Spring Creek National

The seventh match of the 2012 Lucas Oil AMA Pro MX Championship was held last Saturday night at the Spring Creek Motocross Park of Millville, Minnesota. In the 250cc lites class event, Eli Tomac of team GEICO Honda had an amazing run to emerge out as the overall winner of the event. A moto score of 3-1 in the event gave him the top podium position. It was also the third overall victory of Tomac in this season.

The Spring Creek National which was held last Saturday night at the renowned Spring Creek Motocross Park of Millville, Minnesota. It was the prime highlight of last weekend as the seventh round of the 2012 Lucas Oil AMA Pro MX Championship underwent in an extravagant manner with completely jam-packed stadiums crowded with thousands of fans who love to watch dirt bike racing. The 250cc lites class race was one of the major attractions of the Spring Creek National. Both the moto matches of the 250cc lites class race saw some thrilling and nail-biting moments. It was Eli Tomac of team GEICO Honda who rode to excellence this weekend to claim the victory in the 250cc lites class event. It was also his third victory of this season of extreme outdoor dirt bike racing.

As said that fortune always favors the brave, this statement turned out to be very true in case of Eli Tomac‘s overall performance last weekend. Tomac not only rode exceptionally well during both the moto matches, but was also lucky enough to gain on the misfortune of the points table leader, Blake Baggett of team Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki. Blake Baggett was the winner of the last two consecutive 250cc lites class matches and at the Spring Creek National, he was eyeing on his third straight win.

Right from the start of the first motomatch, Baggett was on the go. He had an awesome start to his race and acquired an amazing start too. Baggett finished the first lap at the 8th position but made some quick passes in the 5th lap to get involved into a 4-way battle at the front between Justin Barcia and Eli Tomac of team GEICO Honda and Ken Roczen of team Red Bull KTM. The fierce battle continued long until Baggett got the lead in the 12th lap and went onto win the first moto. Barcia came second while Tomac finished third.

Baggett went off to another flyer start in the second moto coming out of the gates at the 3rd position. In the 6th lap, he overtook Tomac at the front to gain the lead in the race. Unfortunately in the 7th lap, Baggett lost the rear traction of his bike and dropped to the seventh position. Tomac quickly gained on this to acquire the lead and finally won the race. Barcia came second while Roczen finished third. Baggett made somequick passes at the last moments to finish at the fourth position. Eli Tomac was the overall winner with a 3-1 finish while Barcia came second with a 2-2 finish. Baggett got the third podium position with a 1-4 finish.
