The FIM World Championship 2012 had a cracking start. While Ryan Villopoto seemed untouchable, other contenders like Chad Reed, James Stewart, etc. are fighting hard to excel each other. However, bad news came in when Wil Hahn of team Honda got injured during the practice session and fractured his right hip. Yet again like the 2011 season, in this season too he will be out of the league for at least 3-6 weeks. He will be missed this Saturday at Chase Field, Phoenix.
The FIM World Championship is the most prestigious dirt bike race organized in USA which constitutes of two big racing events named the Monster Jam and the Monster Energy AMA Supercross. The Feld Motor Sports®, America is the prime organizer and producer of these events. The 2012 FIM World Championship had a thrilling start at the Angel stadium, Anaheim, USA with Ryan Villopoto dominating for 20 straight laps and finally acquiring the crackers. Chad Reed followed him to secure the second position.
However, it was disappointing when Honda’s WilHahn fractured his hip during the practice session. Previously, Hahn got injured during the 2011 season of the FIM World Championship and now in this season also he got injured. He will now miss about 3-6 weeks of the2012 season of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross. His right hip got seriously fractured during the training session on Wednesday,11th January, 2012 at Honda’s practice facility at Corona, Calif.
Hahn quoted "I'm totally shocked and numbed. This week, I was training veryhard at the Honda track and everything was going pretty good until when I landed awkwardly after going over a step up and fell over. I landed very hard on the right side of my hip. It felt sore when I tried to stand up. I immediately rushed to the doctor. After examining, the X-rays showed that something was seriously wrong. It was only when I went to an orthopedic doctor on Thursday, 12th January, 2012, I was reported that my hip was got fractured. I can't believe that I have to sit again in this season too.It feels terribly bad".
Mike LaRocco, the team manager of Honda, said that it is already very late this weekend and it’s impossible to get a substitute for Hahn during the Chase Field race in Phoenix during the weekend.LaRocco quoted "We were unaware about how bad Hahn's injury was until the report arrived on Thursday. By that time, it was already too late to find a substitute for Hahn because the truck for Arizona had already left. So now, we only have Eli Tomacand Kevin Windham racing for us this weekend. We are feeling very bad for Hahn. He seemedvery strong during the practice and an injury like this is disheartening.
WilHahn had a victorious return attheseason opener of theSupercrossevent last week at the Angel stadium, Anaheim. Meanwhile, LaRoccoshortlisted some riders to replace Hahn. Catch the practice session on Saturday, 12:30 p.m. PST from Chase Field, Phoenix. Main event begins at 7 p.m. and will be aired on SPEED TV.
