Gareth Swanepoel Is Looking For His First 2012 SX Lites Podium Appearance

Gareth Swanepoel of team Star Valli Yamaha had an amazing race during the sixth round of the 2012 AMA Supercross series at the Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego, CA.  He showed some great efforts and managed to finish at his career best fourth position at the race ending. He is happy for his overall performance and is now expecting to deliver a great performance in the upcoming matches to gain a podium appearance in this season of the Superceross Lites Class series.

The sixth race of the 2012 AMA Supercross Series, a part of the FIM World Championship was conducted in front of a huge number of fans of about 59,000 at the Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego, CA. Gareth Swanepoel, the racer of team Star Valli Yamaha, delivered a great performance and earned his career best fourth spot finishing during the Supercross match at San Diego. The South African rider who migrated to USA in the year 2011 to fulfill his childhood ambition of racing in the United States, has successfully completed his first season in the 2012 AMA Supercross Lites class series.

“In the previous season, I crashed during the initial round and injured my neck which ousted me from the entire season. So actually, this is my first full Supercross season of the 2012 SX lites class racing.” quoted an overjoyed Swanepoel. “The AMA Supercross lites class series is an entirely different racing and I have been trying hard to locate my feet in it. Tonight, I finally proved that I can also deliver some amazing performance run the pace continuously for a total of fifteen laps at a stretch. The whoops present in the racing track were really looking gnarly and knotty but I successfully employed them to my own advantage and bumped them consistently in each and every lap.”

A break of two month will now allow Gareth Swanepoel and his Star Valli Yamaha team to begin their outdoor practice before again returning back to Seattle on April 21st, 2012 for the remaining three races of the Supercross Lites Class West coast series. Swanepoel quoted, “My team is counting on me for the outdoor matches. We proved last year that we too can win and I wish to take this expectation to a higher level in this season with being a potential podium contender consistently. Our Yamaha bikes are running superbly and there isn’t any argument why we cannot win the championship. My main aim is to finish the much anticipated West coast SX series in a healthy manner so that I head towards the Motocross season very strongly.  An appearance at the podium during the Supercross Lites series would be an awesome experience and I’m really looking forward to give my 100%.”

Gareth Swanepoel was the first racer in the year 2011 to break the winning streak of the powerful team of Kawasaki. He registered an amazing win over Tyla Rattray, his fellow countryman, of team Kawasaki during the race at Southwick, Massachusetts.
