The 12th round of the 2012 AMA Supercross series was held last Saturday at the Rogers Centre, Toronto. It was a houseful event and resulted into a high voltage drama where some of the ace riders of team Honda rode beautifully to acquire podium appearances in both the Supercross event and the Eastern Regional Supercross Lites Class series. It was a memorable night for the Honda team at Toronto.
More than 48,000 fans gathered together at the Rogers Centre, Toronto to witness Honda’s ace riders to make an appearance at the podium of the 12th round of the 2012 AMA Supercross Series, a part of the FIM World Championship. Justin Brayton of team Honda Muscle Milk rode amazingly on his CRF450R bike to score a second position finishing in the race. It also marked Brayton’s third podium appearance in this season. On the other hand, Kevin Windham of team GEICO Honda came third in the match and captured his third podium appearance in this season. Another rider of GEICO Honda, Justin Barcia too had an amazing race at Toronto riding on his CRF250R bike. He registered his fifth win in the Eastern Regional Supercross Lites Class series.
For the second consecutive week, Justin Brayton of team Honda Muscle Milk has been able to pull off some spectacular performances and is riding impressively At Toronto too, he built the base of a great performance by delivering the quickest qualifying time in the practice match and coming second in the heat raceIn the main event, Brayton was very quick to grab the Nuclear Cowboyz holeshot award and rode with a great speed. During the initial laps of the race, he was riding at the leading position. Wil Hahn, another teammate of GEICO Honda, also rode well on Honda CRF450R bike to finish tenth in the match.
Another GEICO Honda rider, Kevin Windham had an average start in the main event but worked extremely hard and showed some great skills to work his way right up to the third position. Though the track was tricky and was a bit tough, but Windham looked pretty confident and was completely focused on the race track. He intelligently kept his bike straight throughout the entire whoops in the track. He managed to secure the final position in the podium for his team by coming third in the race.
In the Eastern Regional Supercross Lites Class championship, Justin Barcia once again scored a win after being defeated at Indianapolis. The match at Indianapolis came as a small pause in his winning streak as he again returned back to the top position of the podium. He had a great start in the main event and gained a good speed. Riding on his Honda CRF250R bike, Barcia rode impressively throughout all the laps to finally acquire the checkered flag at Toronto with an amazing timing. Barcia resides at the top of the points table of the Supercross Lites standings.
