A similar sort of thing happened a day before during the practice session of the match. RuiGonçalves crashed hard to the ground during the timed session and got severely injured. He was then immediately rushed for initial medications and evaluations. Initial examinations revealed that Gonçalves had broken a bone of his right bone. Despite of that injury, Gonçalves showed great character by deciding that he will race next day. A sunny day during the main event of the race helped Gonçalves to feel a bit better than the day before. Gonçalves finally managed to finish the race at the 15th position.
Bobryshev too had a crash the day before the race. He is said to have pain while breathing. His discomfort during the main event was further enhanced by a fault in his bike which was incurred after his crash during the start of the match.
