James Stewart Registers a Thrilling Victory at 2012 Daytona Supercross

During the tenth match of the 2012 AMA Supercros series at Daytona, heavy rainfalls made the race track look pretty ugly. The extreme dirt at the track made riding pretty difficult for the riders but it didn’t stop James Stewart of team JGR Yamaha to register his second victory of this season. His teammate David Millsaps finished second while Kevin Windham finished at the third spot. Defending champion Ryan Villopoto finished fifth in the race.

The tenth match of the 2012 AMA Supercross series, a part of the FIM World Championship was held at the famous Daytona Beach of Florida last Saturday. Daytona experienced heavy rainfall last weekend and the rain played a great role in making the race track look pretty ugly. Daytona turned into the dirtiest race track ever in this season of the AMA Supercross series and the hostile conditions could not stop James Stewart, the ace rider of JGR Yamaha to register his second victory of this season. Stewart made the rainy night at Daytona a very memorable one for his entire JGR Yamaha team.

The conditions at Daytona were very unfriendly but the two times champion pulled off an amazing victory. During the main event, Stewart had a superb start and was riding well.  He was completely focused on the muddy race track. On account of an amazing start, Stewart maintained the lead for most of the time during the reduced 16 laps brawl. The brawl witnessed the defending champion, Ryan Villopoto of team Kawasaki struggled a lot. Villopoto also crashed two times during the mud-filled main event of Supercross race.

2012 Daytona SupercrossAt Daytona, Davi Millsaps delivered his best performance in the entire season. He showed some great skills and finished second in the race. He gave a good competition to his teammate Stewart and finished just seven seconds behind him. With two of its ace riders appearing at the first and the second position in the race podium, the JGR/ Yamaha racing team had the best night of this season so far. Kevin Windham of GEICO Honda racing team rode brilliantly and finished third in the race. During the heat race, Windham delivered some amazing performances and went on to win it. He acquired his first ever appearance in the race podium at Daytona.

During the main event, Millsaps acquired the Nuclear Cowboyz® Holeshot reward ahead of James Stewart. During the opening lap, the two teammates were giving each other a tough battle and were riding superbly. Meanwhile, Villopoto was struggling at the uphill and crashed twice in the first lap within a span of few seconds. The two crashes compelled the defending champion to lose several positions. During the second lap, Stewart was closing in hard on Millsaps and finally was able to overtake him by showing some great racing skills. Kevin Windham gained on this opportunity and quickly went pass Villopoto. Marvin Musquin of team Red Bull KTM too overtook Villopoto and was riding behind Windham. Villopoto finally managed to finish fifth in the race.
