Recap Of 2012 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series

As the 2012 AMA Supercross series came to an end at Las Vegas last Saturday night, Feld Motor Sports® and CBS Sports Channel came up with a recap show of the entire season which was telecasted on CBS Sports Channel on last Sunday afternoon at 2pm EST. It showcased the victory rides of Ryan Villopoto in the supercross class, Justin Barcia in the SX Lites East Class series and of Eli Tomac in the SX Lites West Class series. The one-hour show also telecasted exclusive interviews of some of the top dirt bike racers.

The 2012 season of the AMA Supercross series, a part of the FIM World championship, will go down the lanes of history as one of the most exciting and memorable indoor motorcycle racing event ever. While some of the top dirt bike riders came together to deliver some mesmerizing and thrilling racing moments, the championship will be considered as a very special one and a great tournament of all time. Numerous exciting and nail-biting story lines got demonstrated in dramatic fashion. In an initiative to enable the dirt bike fans to relive all those quality moments, the Feld Motor Sports® and CBS Sports Channel came up with a recap show of the entire season. The recap show was telecasted on CBS Sports Channel on last Sunday afternoon at 2pm EST.

The series saw several ups and downs. While some of the most hyped and potential title contenders went ahead to achieve desirable and satisfactory results, some top racers were unfortunate to get ruled out of the series because of injuries. The one hour program showed the recap of the entire series beginning from Anaheim-I till the Las Vegas match. The series saw the defending champion, Ryan Villopoto of team Kawasaki successfully defend his title and winning it for the second consecutive time. He had an impressive run throughout the series but missed out on the last two matches at Salt Lake City and Las Vegas due to the injuries which he during the crash at the Seattle supercross match. Villopoto acquired the title with four matches still left in the series. This has occurred for the first time in the history of supercross.

Behind Villopoto, team Yamaha’s Davi Millsaps secured the second positon in the race podium with some spectacular performances. Ryan Dungey of team Red Bull KTM worked hard to secure the final podium position. The recap ran for one hour and it showed Villopoto’s journey to victory. It showed how Villopoto went ahead to become a legendary racer leaving aside quality racers like James Stewart, Chad Reed, Ryan Dungey, Davi Millsaps, Kevin Windham, Trey Canard, etc.

The show also highlighted the achievements made in both the East and West Lites Class tournaments. It also presented a special report on how Justin Barcia ad Eli Tomac of team GEICO Honda rode their way to victory. In addition to all that, the recap show also telecasted exclusive interviews of the top riders from the supercross premier class and both the East and West Lites Classes. Overall, the one-hour show made us relive all those supercross actions beginning from Anaheim-I to Las Vegas.
