The famous High Point Raceway of Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania played host to the fourth round of the 2012 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship last weekend. In the 450cc class category, Ryan Dungey of team Red Bull KTM registered his second consecutive win in two back-to-back Motocross rounds. He won both the moto races and was completely dominating throughout the event.
The fourth round of the 2012 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship was played last Saturday night at the famous High Point Raceway located at Mt. Morris of Southeastern Pennsylvania. The event approved by the AMA pro racing was brought to you by The United Bank and the Motocross round at High Point Raceway also marked the completion of the 36th FMF Annual High Point National event.
The celebrations for the Red Bull KTM racing team does not seem to come to an end as the party continues from last weekend’s Motocross match at Denver, Colorado. Ryan Dungey of team Red Bull KTM has registered his second consecutive victory in the 450cc Class category by winning both the moto matches at the High Point National. At Denver, Dungey was able to score a thumping win and at Pennsylvania, his performance was even better. This time, he swept away victories in both the moto matches and completely outplayed all his competitors. So its two back-to-back victories till now for Dungey in this season of outdoor dirt bike racing.
In the qualifying round for the 450cc Class event, Ryan Dungey had a good start and rode well to finish at the third spot. He qualified for the main event at the third place. In the main event of the 450cc Class category, Mike Alessi of team MotoConcepts Suzuki went off to a great start and acquired the holeshot award in no time. Alessi was quick to gain the lead in the match and cruised ahead. Starting the race from the third position, Dungey slowly and steadily began charging forward and quickly acquired superb speed too. Dungy made several quick passes to get to the second position in the race. At halfway down the match, Dungey showed great skills and made a superb pass over Alessi to gain the lead in the race. Dungey then held onto his leading position and finally acquired the checkers just 20 seconds before Alessi.
In the second moto race, Dungey was able to get an awesome start to his race. Starting from the front of the pack, Dungey was quick to acquire the leading position in the race with just Mike Alessi following him closely. Alessi gave a tough fight to Dungey but couldn’t really overtake him. Dungey was really quick and smart too. Dungey’s speed helped him broaden the gap between him and Alessi. Dungey then went on to finish at the first position for the second consecutive time that particular night. He was awarded the first position in the event making it his second straight win in two consecutive Motocross rounds.
