| The Spam man | How To Stoppie How To Stoppie TJ Scott Stoppies are great looking, but very dangerous tricks they take time to learn, but heres my method to getting a good start. First, you are going to have a much better time with disc brakes, drum brakes will make this task much harder and less controlled. Secondly, wear gear! Especially a helmet, it does not usually feel very good to have a bike fall on your head. Ok, so the first thing to do is find a dry place to perform the task, you will have the best luck with hard packed dirt. Asphalt hurts you and your bike. Come up in first, ease on the front brake, a little more and more, this whole process is similar to a roll-on wheelie, only backwards, once you get the brake about half in, swiftly push it in just enough to stop the front tire, at this exact second, you want to push yourself forward up to the edge of the seat, once you are in the air pull in your clutch, you don’t want your spinning back tire to hit the ground from a stop. Now start slipping the front brake, then hit it again once the bike starts going down, repeat this process until you are ready to come back down, make sure you land with the clutch in. When you are ready, you can start going faster and holding them longer. Use this technique and you will have stoppies down in no time! ![]()

| Administrator | I put it here. It does not belong in How-To Articles. Those are meant to be bike maintenance articles, not riding techniques. LOL
