Getting the holeshot on a 125

First I hope you got a good gate postion. Now you are all amped up and ready to go you have all those other riders you need to get ahead of so you dont eat a bunch of dirt .

Start out in second gear. Turn the throttle about 50% of the way. When the gate drops go 100% throttle dont release your clutch to much. Feather your clutch out untill you are about 22 feet away from the gate. This will help you win those holeshots.

i usually start off in 1st at about 1/4 to 1/2 throttle and right before the go about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. i feather the clutch a bit and ride 1st right up to the rev limiter. i kno some people think that you lose power by doing that but i have looked at dyno charts for my bike and its a straight line all the way to the rev limiter with no power loss so why not. then i shift into 2nd and at about 9000-10000 i shift into 3rd. i have found that this gets me a pretty nice holeshot.
