| Administrator | shift down a gear or 2 and when braking apply brakes lightly but more front than rear and keep your weight towards the rear.

| Super Moderator | depends on what you ride, if its a two stroke than no engine breaking, rely purely on light braking. if its a four stroke, than drop down a gear or two and check your speed with light brake pressure it is possible to apply brake pressure with out locking the wheel.

| C Rider | i had a bad wreck on a steep downhill,front brakes went out. i ended up hitting a log going very fast. i bent the front forks and the frame. but i was lucky and got away witha few bruises. Anyway now i get scared when i get going over like 3 mph down the steep hills. is there anyway to get over this? |

| Administrator | i had that back i first started riding and i was like screw this, it isnt hardcore and pinned the throttle down a crazy steep hill and didnt crash. now it has just become second nature. u basically just have to go at it. same with jumps, i will hit jumps that my friends dont want to hit and same with hill climbs. just believe u can and say u dont care if u crash. ya ive crashed but the advancement that i have gained from being more hardcore at these things is worth it. and still the only bone i have broken riding is a collar bone.

| C Rider | well the problem is that these are super tecincal hills. im still like i was, i would hit anything you pointed at. but im so afrade i will crash and mess up another bike. so i cant do some things now. maybe when i get this thing rebuilt i can try some of this |

| Administrator | ya, if u think u are for sure going to hit an object or crash, smash the rear brakes and slide the bike to a stop on the hill. the body heals but your bike doesnt (for free at least) so sacrifice yourself for your bike, i do. lol.

| Administrator | I had problems getting over my fears after some bad crashes myself. In the back of your mind you will always remember that crash and it haunts you. Instead of letting it give you fear remember from past mistakes or things that went wrong and use it as what not to do again in that particular situation. This may help ya out ![]()
