obviously this will not cause enough wear to any damage.

ya, its a weird angle for me to stand and upshift, but standing and downshifting is fine. my clutch perch is rotated super far down, about a 45 degree angle with the ground just to make it easier to grab when standing and shifting.

What if you are standing up in a race and have no time to use the clutch?

we are talking about using the clutch when you up shift, but if you dont use it make sure you at least let off the gas all the way. if you dont you WILL break gears, ive had it happen twice now. and idk if any of you get the AMA magazine but they have and issue on disspelling motorcycle myths and one of them is using the clutch on a upshift. this is quoted "While the clutch is there for a reason, its not absolutely necessary to use it on every upshift. Racers seldom clutch upshift, for example. Many times, a well timed throttle at a key point is far more important to ensure a trouble-free change in the cogs that are feeding the power through the countershaft.
