gear on hub basket

i bought a hub basket and the one i took off the bike has gears on it, how do i get them off and on the new one?

You have to grind or drill out the rivets. I chose to grind mine because it is easier. Did you buy a stock clutch basket? If so you will have to rivet it on otherwise it will come with a back plate and screws to hold it on the new clutch. Just keep the rubber washers on the stock one because they go on the new one.

i think all oem clutch baskets come with the gear on them

i bought an aftermarket, how were you grinding these? from the rivit head on the back side? i did that to one and its still not coming out

OK, I ground them flush with the metal back plate. Then I took a screwdriver and wedged it in between and popped the plate off. Make sure you grind them more than flush. I just used an angle grinder.
