96 warrior

so i got this warrior and the guy told me he re did the top end but no fire so i replaced the completes harness and now its firing, and after turning it over and having it back fire we decided to check the timing to be sure , well it was off by alot ( previous owner was an idiot by the way ) but after all that was corrected and valve clearance re adjusted, im throwing fireballs out of the carb and wont start, im assuming the valves where damaged from the timing being off so im pulling the head and taking it to the machine shop tp have it checked , but if anyone can think of anything i might be overlooking or missed any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

sounds like a rather nasty back fire, which means its possibly still valves that are out of spec, its running extemly lean, possibly plugged up carb, or an issue with the electrical

i elemintaed carb issue by using a carb off a running warrior, and it seems to be firing well i cant think of any way for ignition timing to be off seeing as how its just all electronic, i guess im down to having the valves checked out and if they are fine then ill go back to wiring issues

I would check the valves myself, its pretty easy, I think the warrior uses a rocker set up

I dont think the valve seats would cause this, perhaps double check your timing? it can be tricky, I know.

sounds to me like the intake cam is retarded...

(still open when it fires)

it was the valves intake valve was bent buddy had an extra head laying around threw it on and it fired right off but after putting it back together we realized using an older wiring harness on it was causing it to think it was in nuetral when it was actually in reverse so when we started it again it sheard the flywheel key i fixed the whole reverse problem but now i have to get a key in the morning
