YZ400F Lighting

I have just purchased a 1998 YZ400F and am looking for some lighting options. I am looking to install a headlight and tailight. Does anyone have any options or suggestions?

You are able to buy lighting kits. They a fairly easy to install. I found one here on bikebandit for you. Lighting Kits 1998 YZ400F

Now that will get me a light but where can I get a stator. I know Baja Designs makes a killer one but they list it for YZ450's only. Or have you heard of anyone swapping in the WR stator set-up. For that matter have you ever heard of anyone converting these to an electric start?

Solution

Just An Update. I Did Not End Up Installing The Light Kit But I Did Speak To Ricky Stator And A Yamaha Tech Locally And It Seems That The Best Bet Is To Install The Wr Flywheel And Stator Assembly Then You Can Run Just About Any Light Kit Including The Stock Wr Set-up. On A Side Note I Love The Bike! It's Fast And Reliable. I Think It Will Need A Freshen Up This Summer, New Piston, Rings Seals Etc...

Hey welcome back . Let us know how the rebuild goes. Maybe if you would like make a journal thread and tell us all about it with pictures and all. We would really enjoy that

Rebuild

I will keep you posted. It will probably be another couple of months because I want to get all the riding in that I can before it gets too hot (it will be 100+ degrees here in Havasu pretty quick). On another note I recently put a desert tank on and had to make some minor mods to make it fit but was able to do it without replacing the seat. I just trimmed it back and re-fit the seat cover. You can't even tell unless you are really looking for it.
